There is no doubt that the tennis shoe has come back into fashion with full force. I’ve been obsessing over the Adidas Superstars and have been searching for them everywhere but could not find a pair at all! For those lucky enough to live in Europe or the USA, they are plentiful. However, in Australia, they are completely sold out so we have to look for other options. I know I could probably find a pair of superstars if I searched high and low but let’s be honest – I’m a little bit lazy (and time poor) to do that!
As I couldn’t find the superstars, I’d been on the search for the perfect white sneaker for a few weeks. I knew exactly what I wanted and I wasn’t going to settle for anything less. Some people get a little scared when they think of white shoes. The first person I told said “but they’re going to get so dirty!”, I just replied with “have you ever heard of hand sanitiser?” – shutting them down instantly and explaining how it is literally the saviour to any white shoes. Now if you’re wondering what hand sanitiser will do to your old white shoes? I’d just say grab a cloth and try it out – you’ll be surprised how nice they scrub up!
This has been my go-to outfit ever since I bought the sneakers. There’s something about a long knit, leather and sneakers that is just such a great combination and I’m obsessed. I know some people get a little scared with leather but the key to leather on leather is to break it up with a different texture. The perfect addition is a long length knit as the break is more than normal and takes away from the full ‘bikey’ look!
